Obtaining a 4X4 Vehicle Permit for Sinai

You can get your permit from the Ministry of Defense headquarters in NASR CITY (in front of Tiba Mall). Go to GATE #2 and head to the 3rd floor, look for the window marked "4X4 Permits".  https://maps.app.goo.gl/xQWwE2TJHeYL6hSn6

You will need to have your NATIONAL ID, DRIVING LICENSE, and CAR REGISTRATION (make copies of each). 

NOTE: Vehicle registration should be in your name (if not, then a proxy / "توكيل" is required).

You will fill in a form specifying where you are going in Sinai, the dates (MAX. DURATION ALLOWED IS 10 DAYS). You will pay a fee of EGP 10 using a debit or credit card (no cash).

Once form has been filled in and submitted, they ask you to return in 2-3 days to receive your permit. You will then need to pay EGP 505 using a debit or credit card (no cash).
