We've provided some useful information and resources for you to help with things like preparing for camping trips, a pre-trip car inspection checklist, and other curated material from various sources online. As usual these are reference items only and the Jeep Club provides them for you to use as-is with no responsibility or liability on our part.
Pre-Trip Maintenance Check
It is critical that you have your car inspected before going on any long trips, particularly off-road trips. Use this as a basic minimum for inspection before the day of the trip.
Camping Checklist
Keep this handy checklist with your gear so you don't forget anything on your next desert trip.
DTC Codes (Wrangler models 2007-2018)
You never know when you might need to find out the error code of a malfunction in your car. Using some simple steps you can identify fault codes to help communicate them to trained personnel (useful if you aren't near an authorized service center and need assistance diagnosing a problem by phone).
NOTE: SEE PAGE 18 IN THE ATTACHED GUIDE FOR HOW TO DISPLAY THE ERROR CODES.
Hand Signals for Spotters
Hand signals are like secret superhero codes, way cooler than boring old words that can get lost in the engine's noise. So, before you embark on your epic adventure, make sure you and your trusty sidekick (a.k.a. spotter) have your own awesome signal language that nobody else understands. Trust me, flailing your arms like a human helicopter won't do anything but confuse the heck out of everyone. Stick to the plan and ignore anyone who doesn't have the secret signal power!
